I love houmous and the best is that it can be made with so many different flavours. This is not some new recipe but it is just my way to make houmous. I definitely feel like eating only light food after Christmas.
When I make my houmous I usually cook chickpeas at home but you can definitely use canned chickpeas.
This recipe is: gluten-free, lactose-free, dairy-free, soya-free, yeast-free, egg-free, vegetarian and vegan.
Preparation: 10 min.
Makes: approx. 550g

- 2 ½ cups cooked chickpeas, (drained) 330g
- ¾ cup water, approx. 200 ml
- 2 tbsp. tahini paste, 50g
- 2 tbsp. olive oil, 20 ml
- 1 tbsp. lemon juice, (freshly squeezed)
- 1 garlic love, (pressed)
- ½ tsp. sea salt
- In the blender, blend all ingredients until smooth.
You can add small handful of fresh parsley and 1 tsp. red sweet paprika for different flavour. Houmous is great with bread or any vegetables….
To store: in a glass jar in the fridge
